The First Congregational Church is a church located in downtown Portland, Oregon, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Construction took place over a period of six years, from 1889 to 1895. The building was designed by Swiss architect Henry J. Hefty in Venetian Gothic style. The interior includes stained-glass windows, commissioned in 1906, made by Portland's Povey Brothers Studio. The building's height to the top of the bell tower is 175 feet to 185 feet.

I grew up in this church as a lad it was the elders old enough to be my Grandparents who mentored me, these days it is the ones young enough to be my children who are guiding me spiritually, all in all a good place.

I attended a speaking engagement as part of Word Stock. The church is beautiful and reading about them on this site, they seem to align with my beliefs. But back to the reason I was there- the speakers. The sound was a bit difficult to always hear/ understand what they were saying but none the less enjoyable.
